In the article entitled,"The Dangers of Reality TV," Timothy Sexon says reality TV is bad, because it give the impression that image is better than ability.In today's world it is not unsual to see people trying to get in the spotlight rather than going to college. It may be true that one's should have ability but it is also true that we all need ability and image. There are potential benefits that can be an asset when one is talented.

One of the benefit is entaining. Being a entainer has intellectual benefits that can give a better insights of one talents , it is also good to work with other in this area because you get to meet  celebratys.In the passage it says that "reality tv shows reinforce the idea that life is nothing but a competitions." However life is a competition,we as individual has to choose which role to plays in life, some choose  college while other choose to use their talent, as we know not every one have the brains for college, and for some to make it in the real world we have to be good at something.Today the reality tv give many people the opportunity to show their true potentals. With reality show like American Idols, Who want to be a Millionaire and all the others  many talents would go to waste.
and never be discovered.For instance  I remember carlene one of my class mate in high school she was not a bright student  but she always make the class lively  by imminating Bob Marley  and being the class clown,regardless of her not going to college' today she is one of the most successful artist  in Jamaica and were able to employe many people with college degree.so as one can see image do play it part in people lives.

Secondly going to college is good but when one look and see what is happening in the job market todays it make one's wonder. Thousand of student graduate from college yearly and find it difficult to get a  decent job,however after spending so much money for education they have no other choice but to stick to a low paying job to survive.This type of problem discourace people from wasting time and money in college when their image could make them comfortable. the author stated that" the most single  message that those show send is education is complety innecessary to fulfill the American dreams," in spite of all the education one posess without a tidy income one is doom and will never make it to fullfill their dream,moreover everone want  a comfortable life that they can provid for their family. so individuals will seek ways of making more money, with this in mind no one want to waste time in college  when there are easier and faster option with image.base on my personal experience I have seen my mother labour in the classroom for years and could barley find food for my sibbling and my self to eat, unlike like my Aunt she was a dressmaker and before you know she has a booming business in fashion my aunt never make it to college but my mom did. comparing the life of  people with good education life never always turn out as one expected and as the passage say" why go to school and face the difficulties of learning something when you can go on fear factor eat bugs and walk aways with bucket of money?." Also people with education need the skill as a back up plan in crisis like recession if in case they get fired from their job.

People may not agree with me they may question  the idea of one not having a good education, and how far can one goes with only image, but I strongly in my opinion believe that image is essential in many crises and helps provide better living for many. I endorse the idea that people can use their image and prove a better future for themselves.because of poor judgement people lack the understanding that image and ability works well together.

In the article entitled," Truman Show: Why People Think They're Living  In A Reality Show,"Collin Lecher stated that people have always imagined things that aren't real. delusion makes individuals think they are living like a movie star when they are not, it is a mental disorder that affect the mind of individuals and let them impersonate a character's of their choice. The Truman syndrome are similar to the way in which one act when they are paranoid.

I agree with the author that the" Truman Show Syndrome" is occurrences but delusion of it kind are not, Because it is a mental disorder that causes one to get aggressive and always suspicious of others they think are out to get them.

My first reason to agree with the author is, in many ways Truman character is similar to delusion, both in the same pattern of behavior.However some aspect of this movie is base on how people like Christof like to control people life just for their own gain, on the contrary Truman life was all plan and Seahaven was like a safe haven to fully maneuver his life , every moment of his life was monitor on a daily base his wife his family and friend were all part of the plan. For example  my dad died when I  was in High school so it was hard for my sibling and I to continue school without the help of my dad, as a result my uncle volunteer to help with my schooling, from that day I become a total robot because after school I have no time for my self I have to take on responsibilities as a child to do all the chores around the house., It may appear that he has control of my life but all along I was planning my way out of that miserable life, I study twice as hard and to the end  my determination pays off. As the author mention that " the Trueman cases are  much a story about our culture and our technology.

My second reason to agree with the author is Trueman began to question the world that surrounded him, and his vision on seahaven has totally change. In fact he start to think of all that has happens in his lives and realise it was all stage..Undoubtedly delusion is far difference in many ways,individuals who suffers from paranoia are very hypersensitive and easily offended by other views, paranoia can comes in different element in which one's think they are in danger from every individuals.however the passage mention that people can deride these delusions as complete mental fabrications, but the truth is often more nuanced.For example in my community in queens my neighbour Janice have early signs of dementia she is always hearing voices and want to harm other, but some how when she is treated she is back to her old selves again,regardless of one conditions He or She should be treated accordingly before getting out of hand.
In conclusion the Truman Show Syndrome is similar to delusions in many ways, because it make people imagine thing that are not real, and believe everyone is after them.
